Lunch with G'ma Ann and G'pa Brent

Since school starts tomorrow, Ann and Brent wanted to have one last summer lunch together with the kids. We always go to Jordan Landing to eat since Ann works in the area.

Today we went to the Red Rooster Waffle House... fun and yum! Kai got mini waffles with his bacon and fruit. Yeah for Red Rooster! We love that place. We actually ran into Vinessa and Jake Baldwin and their kids! (Vinessa's son Carter is Kai's best friend!)

Brent got the Eggs Benedict Waffle with Holandaise Sauce. Yum! I dare you to try to finish a whole plate of food! These meals are huge! But sooo good!

Ann ordered the chicken and waffles with orange butter and BBQ sauce! What a plate!

Of course I ordered my favorite "Pep Rally" ... the strawberries and cream topping, but I added poached eggs and bacon just to shake things up! Yum!

This is a happy group of stuffed tummies! Yes, we took home half our meals... don't kid yourself!

Can't leave a good party without a little goofing off! Wild and crazy kids these people!

Our 2nd Anniversary Weekend in Jackson Hole

Friday night we stayed at the cutest little cabins in Thayne, Wyoming an hour outside Jackson Hole because it was too booked this last summer weekend. But we did manage to have a delicious dinner in Jackson Hole before we came back to sleep. Saturday morning we woke up and went river rafting down the Snake River through the Mad River Tours located in Jackson Hole.

After rafting Saturday morning we drove up through Teton National Park up to Yellowstone where we saw this Buffalo at 'Fishing Bridge'. Brent had to see the fish! But it was too windy.

So on the way back from Yellowstone through Teton Nat. Forest we such these 2 buck and Brent almost died!

He couldn't believe these would be so close to the public!

They were beautiful deer. You have to forgive me for all the next photos... I just loved the Tetons and took a ton of pictures of them! enjoy!

Saturday night we ate in Jackson Hole before going an hour back down to Afton where we stayed the night at a different Motel. It had a kitchenette but the walls were paper thin and the bed was way too small! We slept awful! But Brent took us up Gray's River where he showed me his fishing skills while I played around taking pictures.

We drove home Sunday through a ton of thunderstorms and rainshowers. It was an exciting drive home! A thrilling end to an exciting weekend!

Ding Dong, The Witch is Dead...

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE!

Have I mentioned how the 4 yr old neightbors ring my door bell?... A THOUSAND TIMES A DAY! Usually they start around 9am.... not this morning! They started at 8am! Every day I tell them the same thing... we don't play until AFTER LUNCH! (I am usually very nice about it too!) But today after the 8:00am doorbell ring and then the 8:45am doorbell ring... I decided it was time for a lecture!

So the doorbell rings so often that we choose to ignore it half the time. The TEENAGERS don't even answer the door anymore! So after ignoring the doorbell for half the day yesterday, I finally answered and it was my friend who was wanting to borrow some camping equipment... Hello!

Ok! Its time for phase II... I'm comin' up with a plan! And it better work!

Bear World - Rexburg, Idaho

After hearing where we were going on vacation, some ward members told us to stop by "Yellowstone Bear World" outside Rexburg, Idaho if we got a chance. So we did on the way home.

Obviously the park was all gated, but we drove through the animal pens with strict orders to stay in the car and keep our car windows rolled up! We first drove past Bison, and then Deer, Elk, and then on to the BEARS!

Our kids were more excited than they were in the real "Yellowstone" (which Brent affectionately calls 'Jelly stone'... don't ask!) But they LOVED Bear World!

After seeing the Grizzly Bear we got to the Black Bears. Some were kept to certain areas of the Habitat, others were free to roam as they walked around our cars and played with each other.

A tour group loaded on the top of a 'very tall' truck were throwing food to the bears (an added $25 fee for families who wanted to feed the bears.) This bear was making his way over to the hand-outs. He just walks right past our car and the kids yelled with delight!

We were surrounded! Keala loved every minute of it. Kai thought it was cool, and after a while went back to his Nintendo DS... I can already see the future of this boys life!

Brent and I thought it was just as awesome as well. We drove through the habitat twice as you were able to drive through as many times as you wanted. But not after we stopped at the Gift Store and sat down at some picnic tables and had lunch.

Of course there was the petting zoo... here they had a pen of baby bears who just played and played all day!

They really were small in perspective, this photo makes the cubs looks big.

At the petting zoo my kids saw pigs, ducks, roosters, chickens, fawn, deer, and more!

Keala's dream come true! I felt so bad I didn't tell anyone else about this place!

This baby fawn acted like she was protecting her mother and head butted the kids away if they didn't offer food to her.

I told Keala to stay away... she wanted to pet the deer so bad! There were quite a few in the petting zoo area that the kids could feed. I was amazed at how acclimated they were to people.

I found the cubs play-fighting... why do they look so cute and cuddly!

Just makes you want to get in there and wrestle with them! I'm game... (get it?!)

At last, there were a few 'kiddie' rides... and when I say 'kiddie' I mean toddler!

Every thing went around in the smallest circles, but it was fun for the kids and thats what counts!

This train also went in circles... of course it also stops when someone stands up on the ride... like my son! (Of course it was my son, who else's son would it be!)

A second time around on the rides and Brent was ready to get back on the road!

But so worth the hour we spent here! One more drive through the habitat and we were on our way home!

Not before getting on the slowest of slow rides... but Kai made friends with the kids sitting next to him. They are from Salt Lake too, so Kai wanted their number to go visit them... didn't happen. (Mom's a stinker sometimes!)

Up we go, and down we go, and then lets go! A long drive ahead of us!

Oh wait, theres one more picture! Happy trails to you! (I mean... 'Happy Tails'!)
